The telecommunications watchdog Austel and the radiocommunications regulator Spectrum Management Agency have developed a new standard and frequency band plan for digital cordless telephones. Called Digital European Cordless Telecommunications, the new industry standard is for use in high-density areas such as shopping malls, businesses, universities and schools.
